Biography:
Robert Dalie is a Managing Director of Investments with The Summa Group of Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. (“Oppenheimer”). He is in charge of wealth planning capabilities, one of the pillars the group is founded on.
Robert has been able to differentiate himself by combining a deep level of analytical planning expertise with a strong sense of client advocacy. This allows him to engage with a family on a deeper level of understanding and uncover the issues and concerns that keep them up at night. He takes special care to establish a “big-picture view” of a client’s overall goals, and develops planning strategies that often include the input of the client’s other trusted advisors, such as their CPAs, estate and business planning attorneys, trustees and banking professionals.
His specific expertise and experience lends itself well to entrepreneurs, senior executives, fiduciaries and founders that have recently experienced or are about to experience a life-changing financial event. This proficiency has allowed him to play an integral role within the core advisory teams that deal with these pre and post-liquidity events. Throughout these engagements he has developed a reputation for specialized work with sudden wealth from inheritance, divorce, stock sales, estate planning and closely held business sales.
Forbes, Barron’s, Research Magazine, and Los Angeles Magazine have recognized The Summa Group in their top annual advisor rankings for the quality and success of the practice, client retention and business growth.* Robert has been a central part of The Summa Group since its founding in 2003.
He is a member of the Los Angeles Financial Planning Association (FPA), and holds the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. He attended Pepperdine University where he also played water polo and graduated with BA in business administration and a BS in sports medicine. He is an Eagle Scout and currently sits on Oppenheimer’s Advisory Technology Committee. Robert resides in La Canada with his wife (whom he met at Pepperdine) and their four children.
