Biography:

An American Advertising Federation Hall of Achievement inductee, David Angelo is an industry veteran with a career that spans three decades. He’s worked with world-class agencies including DDB, Chiat\Day and Cliff Freeman & Partners where he consistently challenged conventions for brands such as Coca-Cola, Lexus, Michelin, Reebok, NFL, Bacardi and New York State Lottery.

In 1999, Angelo founded David&Goliath (D&G), a distinct agency and culture driven by a challenger spirit that takes on the toughest marketing Goliaths, no matter how big or small. With its one-word philosophy Brave, he inspires people and brands to overcome Goliaths that keep us from realizing our true potential, and step into authentic purpose and excellence. Angelo created a singular summer internship program, aptly named Bravehearts, where he provides one-on-one mentorship, helping interns identify their own personal brand and craft a life manifesto as a road map for their career. And recently D&G launched the Braver Together Culture Team to cultivate DE&I initiatives and further its commitment to helping eradicate systemic racism. 

In 2016, Angelo founded the heart-centered, global nonprofit Today, I’m Brave, dedicated to unlocking bravery in our youth so they can take on the biggest challenges of tomorrow. Most recently Today, I’m Brave raised nearly $1M for its key iniative, the 100Roofs Project. A joint humanitarian partnership with disaster relief organization Heart 9/11 and actors/activists Rosie Perez and Ramon Rodriguez, 100Roofs rebuilt roofs for more than 116 families in hurricane-stricken Puerto Rico.

In partnership with the 4A’s, Angelo launched the Conscious Creative Movement, a group of inspirational creators who believe that purpose-led creativity can bring positive change in the world. The movement showcases the social good initiatives of creatives from industries including advertising, film and technology to inspire other purpose-minded creators to join and be the change we desperately need today.

Over his three-decade career, David has garnered more than 500 of the industry’s most prestigious awards, including Cannes Lions, One Show Pencils, Clios, Effie Awards, LA’s Entrepreneur of the Year, MediaPost’s Automotive Agency of the Year, and Ad Age Small Agency of the Year, and was named one of 4A’s 100 People Who Make Advertising Great and one of LA’s top Power Players by Modern Luxury’s Angeleno Magazine.

Guest speaker at FastCo’s Innovation Festival, Advertising Week London and NYC, 4A’s, TedX and the One Club, Angelo was named Entrepreneur of the Year, 4A’s 100 People Who Make Advertising Great, LA’s top Power Players and Living Legacies by Angeleno Magazine.

He sits on the board of the 4A’s, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) and the Kenley Jansen Foundation.
