annenberg mainThe Annenberg Innovation Lab is a technological hub that takes its geographic proximity seriously when defining innovation as a social, collaborative process involving artists, scientists and humanists wrestling with new problems raised by technology.

Headed by Erin Reilly, the Lab’s team of Participatory Culture Problem Solvers is currently focused on three areas of research and practice: refining social media analytics, experimenting with transmedia and rethinking urban living. Whether analyzing how people tweet about movies, discussing the effect crowdsourcing could have on disaster relief, or contemplating the potential of a violin prodigy in Los Angeles to teach a class, in real-time, to students in Chattanooga, Tenn., the Innovation Lab is applying scientific parameters to explain social phenomena.
