Biography:
Ishan Malik has nearly two decades of experience trading equity derivatives across the buy-side and sell-side. He is currently Managing Director, Index Volatility at BGC Group, where he covers risk transfer in SPX, VIX, and the broader U.S. index options complex. He joined BGC after serving as a portfolio manager at Verition Fund Management.
Earlier in his career, he ran SPX and VIX on the index volatility desk at J.P. Morgan, where he led the franchise to record equity derivatives revenue through the COVID-era volatility regime. Prior to J.P. Morgan, he ran the VIX book at BNP Paribas in New York. He began his buy-side career as a portfolio manager at Thiel Capital after starting on the exotic equity derivatives desk at Wells Fargo.
Ishan lives in Greenwich, Connecticut with his wife and two young children, and spends most of his free time on his quantitative research projects.
