Disney+ Surpasses 100M Subscribers

Streaming service has rapidly added users in its first 16 months.

Disney’s foray into the streaming world marked a major milestone. On March 9, 2021, the company announced that Disney+ had hit more than 100M subscribers. That’s up 5M subscribers since January 2, 2020—and the streaming service reached that figure after just 16 months of operations. Enrollment for the app has been aided by the attraction of big-name shows such as The Mandalorian and WandaVision. In October 2020, the company told investors it plans for the majority of its in-development works to go to Disney+. Disney+ launched in November 2019.
