Biography:

A former British Royal Navy Aircrew Officer turned neuroscientist, resilience researcher, and wellbeing trailblazer, Paul Taylor has dedicated his life to helping people thrive in high-pressure environments, whether it be in the cockpit, the boardroom, or the boxing ring.

With postgraduate qualifications in Exercise Science, Human Nutrition (with distinction), and Neuroscience, Paul is currently completing a PhD in Applied Psychology, where he’s developing and testing cutting-edge resilience strategies with the Australian Defence Science and Technology Group. He’s also an Affiliate Professor at the University of San Francisco, further cementing his position at the intersection of science, performance, and leadership.

Paul is the founder and Director of The Body-Brain Performance Institute, where he delivers transformational workshops and keynote presentations on executive performance, leadership, and wellbeing to organisations like Medibank, NAB, Johnson & Johnson, and Woolworths. His engaging delivery style, backed by science and lived experience, ensures audiences leave with actionable strategies to optimise energy, focus, and resilience.

Paul doesn’t just talk about resilience, he lives it. He has completed combat survival and resistance-to-interrogation training, competed in a professional boxing match, became Australian Karate Champion, and even ventured deep into the Amazon jungle to undergo a Matsés Indian rite of passage involving frog poison.

A former co-host of Channel One’s ‘Body and Brain Overhaul’ and regular expert on ‘The Biggest Loser’, Paul has twice been voted Australian Fitness Industry Presenter of the Year. He’s the founder and former owner of The Personal Training Academy, where he developed the innovative BioAge software, a tool now used in gyms nationally and international, including by major chains like Fitness First. Additionally, Paul created Ritualize, a digital wellbeing platform initially rolled out to over 200,000 Woolworths staff, and now available to the public.

Paul is also a podcast host and author, with a gift for translating complex neuroscience and psychological principles into real-world tools that help people and teams not just survive, but thrive. Whether speaking live on stage or virtually, Paul tailors his sessions to the specific challenges of modern work on health, performance, and psychological wellbeing.
