More than 150 years ago, a schooner named “America” raced the best British yacht of the day giving birth to the America’s Cup. Louis Vuitton, a brand equally synonymous with adventure as it is with style and class, recently renewed its commitment to the America’s Cup. Louis Vuitton has become the title partner of the America’s Cup World Series, which sets sail in July in Portsmouth, UK, continuing through the America’s Cup Qualifiers and the Challenger Playoffs in 2016 and 2017. Eventually, when the America’s Cup Final is held in Bermuda in 2017 and a champion is crowned, Commissioner Harvey Schiller will produce the cup from a newly designed, one-of-a-kind Louis Vuitton case and present it to the winning team. For the past 32 years, Louis Vuitton has supported the Cup, and this recent announcement reinforces the idea that sports can be stylish and sophisticated. /americascup.com
