Biography:

Kevin Chang serves as Senior Vice President at the UFC, the world’s premier mixed martial arts organization and undisputed global icon of combat sports. Chang was the driving force in establishing the UFC Performance Institute Shanghai®, the world’s largest and most advanced MMA and elite athlete training facility; designated as the Official High-Performance Advisor of the Chinese Olympic Committee, and home of the UFC Combine® and the UFC Academy®. He first joined the UFC in 2011 and is responsible for the company’s overall business and operations in the region including media rights and content distribution, live events, athlete development, PR and social media outreach, corporate partnerships, and investments.

Under his leadership, the popularity of UFC in Asia has flourished, with China becoming the company’s most important country for international expansion. Chang and his team have hosted sell-out events across Asia including Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo, KPSO Dome in Seoul, Singapore Indoor Stadium and several other world class venues. His team has also been recognized for their accomplishments across several industry awards including branding and creative, events operations and social media.

Prior to joining UFC, Chang began his career in sports at the National Football League in New York, where he served as Director of International Media. In 2008, he opened the first China office and earned a “Commissioner’s Award” for producing the League’s very first locally produced online live streaming broadcast, a precursor to Gamepass that has become the centerpiece of the NFL’s international distribution strategy. A native of Honolulu, he holds a BA from Pomona College and a China-focused MBA from the University of Hawaii, East-West Center for Asian Studies.
