Organization The Northern Trust Open is one of the longest-running tournaments on the PGA TOUR. Debuting in 1926 at Los Angeles Country Club, the event permanently settled at The Riviera Country Club in 1973. Since 1926, Northern Trust Open has generated more than $58 million for the City of Hope and other non-profit organizations in the Los Angeles area.
Competitors Fred Couples, Luke Donald, Ernie Els, Jim Furyk, Sergio Garcia, Padraig Harrington, Dustin Johnson, Davis Love III, Geoff Ogilvy, Webb Simpson, Jordan Spieth and Bubba Watson.
Attendees and Entertainment The weekend also drew celebs from music, TV and film.  O.A.R. entertained fans after play on Saturday, and the likes of Chris O’Donnell, Kevin Costner, Luke Wilson, Tom Felton, Billy Bush, and players from the L.A. Kings came out to enjoy the tournament.

Event Highlights Surrounded by stars in the city and on the golf course, James Hahn turned in the performance of his life.  Hahn, who once sold shoes at a high-end department store to make a living, was on the verge of giving up on golf in 2008. This year, he won the Northern Trust Open in a playoff over Dustin Johnson and Paul Casey, for his first PGA TOUR title. The storybook ending? His wife gave birth to their first child, daughter Kailee Marie, one week later.
