Forbix and C-Suite Media gathered investors, policymakers and developers to discuss the billion-dollar transformation of San Pedro’s waterfront.

LOS ANGELES — Forbix, a real estate lending, investment and advisory firm based in Los Angeles, and C-Suite Media hosted an intimate group of investors, policymakers and developers last week to discuss the billion-dollar transformation of San Pedro’s waterfront. The event took place in downtown San Pedro at Topaz Tower, which is currently undergoing the largest office to multifamily conversion in San Pedro.

“Despite the turmoil in capital markets and high interest rates, there are always ways to find value in real estate deals,” said Forbix Founder and CEO, Emil Khodorkovsky. “We’re so excited about the Topaz Tower office conversion and San Pedro’s redevelopment and long-term growth potential, thanks to institutions like AltaSea and the West Harbor development.  That’s why we formed an opportunity zone fund for this project – we see the value and the tremendous growth in this undervalued market.”

The event featured a panel discussion about innovative real estate developments and local initiatives that define the exciting future of San Pedro, moderated by C-Suite Media founder and CEO David Wurth. Panelists included Jerico CEO and Vice President of West Harbor LA, Eric Johnson; AltaSea President and CEO, Terry Tamminen; and Forbix Founder and CEO, Emil Khodorkovsky.

“San Pedro is small town embedded in an urban environment, and it’s important to us to embrace that warmth,” said Eric Johnson, Jerico CEO and vice president of West Harbor LA. “We hope to reflect the ethos of San Pedro and bring unique, authentic and fun experiences to the West Harbor.”

The real estate event was attended by Harbor Commissioner Lee Williams, who provided valuable insights about the history of San Pedro and shared his support for local developments creating opportunities for people to live, work and enjoy entertainment in the area.

“AltaSea represents the convergence of commerce and our oceans, making San Pedro our ideal home” said Terry Tamminen, AltaSea president and CEO. “USC and UCLA establishing labs in San Pedro and Palos Verdes, along with initiatives like the West Harbor development, are pivotal in creating an exciting hub for students and researchers.”

“San Pedro is a place with deep roots and a bright future,” said David Wurth, C-Suite Media founder and CEO. “Its rich history and recent growth make it an up-and-coming place for innovation and investment.”
