Biography

Dr. Gregory Albaugh is board certified in both general surgery and vascular surgery. He has been with Coastal Vascular Center since 2004 upon completion of his vascular training at the Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia campus. Dr. Albaugh is the director of the Peripheral Vascular Lab at St. John’s Regional Medical Center and the director of the Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment and Wound Care Center at St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital. He is an adept researcher and has many articles published in peer reviewed journals; he’s also written two book chapters for medical texts. Dr. Albaugh spent 16 years in the U.S. Navy (mostly on active duty) and has been stationed on both coasts and in Japan. His special surgical skills include endovascular aneurysm repair and peripheral interventions. He also performs carotid endarterectomy, open aortic surgery, limb salvage bypass, dialysis surgery access, and numerous other traditional vascular surgery procedures. Dr. Albaugh also has extensive training in and routinely performs the newest techniques of therapy for venous reflux disease and varicose veins.
